Our very own Bindu has been a part of a production at William & Mary called Sitayana. As a TA, she has been teaching and choreographing Kuchipudi, and – if photos on FB are any indication, she’s starring!
Check out this story (and the video!) at W&M News. Then, go buy tickets for $10 to watch the performance. It’s playing Thursday, April 18th through Sunday, April 21st at the PBK Theater at the College of Wiliam & Mary.
The Ramayana is a story that has been told, retold, and performed in many Asian countries, not just in India, and this performance is a rich and unique performance featuring many different performance arts traditions in South East Asia, not just Kuchipudi. It will be focused on Sita’s story.
